Dr. Margolis was an invited speaker at the University of Colorado Department of Ophthalmology, where he delivered three lectures: a grand rounds presentation, a session with residents, and a basic science talk for researchers. He addressed three critical topics:
- Insights into HSV Latent Infection
- Thinking Critically About Viral Uveitis
- Thinking Critically About Ocular Surface Disease

Morgan-Sarver Symposium at UC Berkeley – April 25, 2025
Later in the month, Dr. Margolis was a Keynote speaker at the Morgan-Sarver Symposium, hosted by the University of California, Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science.
His lecture, titled “Critical Thinking About Ocular Surface Disease”, emphasized a diagnostic and treatment-focused lens grounded in current clinical challenges and recent advances in the field.

Dr. Margolis serves as the Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Distinguished Professor and Chair of the John F. Hardesty, MD Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at WashU Medicine. His research focuses on HSV latency, neurotropic viral infections, and immune responses in the eye.
