The WashU Medicine John F. Hardesty, MD Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences team joined families and community members at the 2026 St. Louis VisionWalk at Creve Coeur Park, helping raise funds and awareness for inherited retinal dystrophies.
Together, the WashU team raised $3,510 as part of an event that raised a total of $92,700 to support the Foundation Fighting Blindness and its mission to accelerate research and provide resources for individuals and families affected by inherited retinal diseases.
Made up of members from administration, clinical care and research, the department team braved the heat to come together in support of the local community. Donna Mackay, Director Research Administration, emphasized the importance of the event and the department’s commitment to supporting families affected by inherited retinal dystrophies.
