A Night of Learning: Highlights from Our LASIK Continuing Education Event
On October 17, 2023, our WashU LASIK team had the pleasure of hosting a continuing education dinner for local optometrists. It was a night filled with engaging discussions, informative presentations, and delicious food. We were thrilled to see so many optometrists in attendance, eager to expand their knowledge and skills. We are excited to continue providing valuable continuing education opportunities for our colleagues in the future. Here are some highlights from our memorable night of learning at the WashU LASIK Continuing Education Event.
Goals of Our Annual LASIK CE Dinner
Our annual LASIK CE Event serves as an opportunity for optometrists to come together and achieve several key goals. First and foremost, our goal is to provide a platform for optometrists to expand their knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in LASIK. We aim to offer a diverse range of topics and presentations that cater to the needs and interests of optometrists, ensuring that they leave the event with valuable insights and practical strategies that they can immediately implement in their practices.
Another important goal of our LASIK CE Event is to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among professionals in the field. We aim to facilitate meaningful conversations and promote collaboration, ultimately elevating the quality of care provided by optometrists in their practices.
Lastly, our goal is to create a memorable and enjoyable experience for all attendees. We want the LASIK CE Event to be a night of learning, networking, and inspiration.
Highlights from Our Expert Speakers
During our event, we had the privilege of hearing from two expert speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise on various topics in refractive surgery. Eric Polk, OD, FAAO, delivered a captivating presentation on “Challenging Cases in Refractive Surgery.” He discussed complex cases and shared his insights on how to overcome challenges and achieve successful outcomes.
Jessica Yang Walia, MD, took the stage to talk about “Infectious Keratitis,” a topic of great importance in the field of ophthalmology. She provided a comprehensive overview of the condition, discussing its causes, diagnosis, and management strategies. Dr. Walia’s expertise and passion for the subject were evident as she shared real-life case studies and practical tips for prevention and treatment.
Both speakers brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the event. We are grateful for their engaging delivery, valuable insights, practical recommendations, and overall contributions to the event.
