On June 6, Siegfried delivered the prestigious Melvin L. Rubin, MD Award Lecture at the meeting of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology. Her lecture, titled “Trabeculectomy: Eyeing Extinction?”, explored the evolving role of trabeculectomy in glaucoma management amid the development of new surgical techniques and treatment options.

These invited presentations reflect Siegfried’s national leadership in glaucoma care, health policy, and ophthalmic education, as well as the department’s ongoing commitment to advancing vision research, patient care, and advocacy.
