Congratulations to Drs. Mae Gordon and Michael Kass, who have been awarded this year’s Helen Keller Prize for Vision Research by the Helen Keller Foundation for Research and Education. This is a terrific accomplishment and one that is well deserved for this remarkable pair of investigators whose work on ocular hypertension and glaucoma has changed the field of Ophthalmology. They join a very accomplished and well know group of 34 prior Helen Keller Laureates who have been recognized for their accomplishments over the past 27 years. Of note, Dr. Bernard Becker, long serving chair of our Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, was the second individual to receive this award back in 1995.
